Responsibilities
IC&I is looking for local consultancy contractor " Civil engineer consultant for the Family Protection Unit/ FPU " to support UNFPA programme implementation based in Rural Damascus.
Organizational Context:
Under the guidance and supervision of the gender program officer/UNFPA, and in close coordination with SCFAP, SFPA and FPU manager, the civil engineer consultant will provide technical support to SCFAP in relation to the FPU rehabilitation works, including monitoring and follow up the rehabilitation works, report on progress and solve any possible problems during the implementation of the rehabilitation works.
Functions / Key Results Expected:
Summary of key functions:
-Provide needs assessments and oversee rehab work.
-Provide technical guidance for rehabilitating FPU infrastructure.
-Ensure high-quality rehab work in the FPU.
-Identify issues, suggest solutions, and report to the supervisor.
-Monitor FPU management's progress on rehab projects.
-Ensure timely completion of planned tasks.
-Send bi-weekly progress reports.
-Help obtain local authorities' approvals when required.
-Review and advise on improving quality of work from subcontractors.

-Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
-At least 4 years of experience in civil engineering works, specifically in constructions and rehabilitation works.
Termination of the contract:
-The contract shall be terminated upon the request of one of the supervisors (UNFPA, or SCFAP) in case of any violation.
Language Requirements:
-Fluent written and spoken Arabic is a must, and fluent English is preferable.
Computer:
-Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office program is required.
