Responsibilities
-Advises management and staff on political issues, conflict, and security situation.
-Build a network of contacts within national authorities, and International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, and any other stakeholders, and ensure that management can easily access these connections.
-Holds briefings on the context and cultural sensitivities for delegation/sub-structure staff.
-Monitors, assesses, and reports on the evolution of the social-economic and political situation in the country.
-Facilitate the contact between the delegation and different Syrian authorities.
-Coordinate and follow up with other departments on files related to different authorization needed from the authorities.
-Monitors closely and analyses the legal environment and new legislation.
-Prepares, attends, and contributes to meetings with interlocutors, and draws up related minutes of meetings.

Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in political science or other relevant field, a master’s degree in humanitarian operations field is an asset.
-Typically, 4-6 years’ professional experience, including 3-4 years’ experience as in a similar field (Field, networking, Security & Safety, etc).
-Good command (spoken and written) of English.
