Responsibilities
• Undertake mission risk analysis and proposing risk reduction strategies
• Review mission practices and tools in line with ADRA’s overall risk reduction strategy.
• Identify current and potential vulnerabilities in the security Standard Operating Procedure (structural and managerial) & their actual implementation, proposing and applying in agreement with the operational line management, necessary improvements.
• Evaluate physical applied security measures currently in place in ADRA’s operational areas and premises (e.g. distribution points, guest houses, and offices) and propose additional or enhanced measures.
• Maintain the incident log for any security issues faced
• Keep abreast of the current context in all operational areas of ADRA Syria through various sources including UNDSS, INSO, other NGOs or others
• Report on any changes to the context that has the potential to impact ADRA Syria operations
• Attend security-related meetings and updates as required
• Conduct pre-mission briefings to field teams as required
• Visit project locations and report on any security risks associated with ADRA staff and programming
• Review and regularly update the Standard Operating Procedure for movements and communication and related applied tools against updated risk analysis and security mapping.
• Regular update of the critical Incident management set-up and evacuation plans
• Ensure the development of inclusive risk management strategies and using situational awareness, critical thinking, and logic to detect and interpret early signals, emerging trends and analysis of multi-dimensional threats that may impact security.
• Enhances communication and trust through active collaboration, consultation and exchanges with ADRA system organizations and other stakeholders, for information sharing, coordination of responses, provision of security briefings, taking into account operational activities and risks.
- Coordinates & collaborates closely with peers and colleagues, non-governmental organizations, diplomatic missions, and Host Government representatives


Qualifications
University Bachelor/ Diploma, in a political/social science, psychology, criminal justice, law, international relations, security management or a related field is required.
• At least 3 years in security related positions
• Solid experience in operations and security management at field level (at least two years)
• Strong security context analytical skills and capacity to develop strategic vision
• Essential working experience with UN/ INGO or other NGOs
Fluency in English is required, in all four areas (speak, read, write and understand).
