Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
The enumerator position is for a daily working position under the Tdh projects.
She/he will be closely supervised by and report to the MEAL Assistants. The core task will be to collect data for the MEAL activities (FGDs, PDMs...etc.) through the approved tools and following the plan provided by the MEAL Manager.
The enumerator will attend sessions clarifying data collection purpose, process, and tools and how to upload data related to the exercise via the selected data collection tools.
Data collection:
- Ensure participants understand their rights and informed consent prior to data collection.
- Use child friendly interview techniques when working with participants under 18 years of age.
- Ensure confidentiality of participants and develop relationship of trust and safe space during data collection exercise with respondents.
- Conduct data collection through key informant interviews, focus group discussions, surveys, etc, including post distribution monitoring.
- Conduct field observations including PSEA checklist as requested.
- Interview identified participants of the project to verify data and information recorded in the registration forms.
- Ensure quality and accuracy of data collected in the field on available guidelines.
- Respect the plan set and raise any concern or challenges that may affect the capacity to meet expected results.
- Document all the findings in the provided data collection tools including digital data entry technology.
- Compiling and sorting the filled data collection tools as directed by the supervisor.
- Participate in regular internal coordination meetings when required.
- Support in data encoding into excel or word when needed.
- Use project monitoring tools and finalize the data entry by the deadline assigned.
- Take responsibility of the asset that you may be entrusted with.
Reporting:
- Present all data collected to the supervisor by end of the day.
- Ensure all completed household visits and verification questionnaires/observation tools are handed over to the supervisor daily.
- Provide daily updates on achievements and/or difficulties faced in the field.
Additional Support in MEAL Activities:
- Conduct child friendly Complaint Feedback Response Mechanism (CFRM) sessions with children and explain about the CFRM to beneficiaries through disseminating the communication channels.
- Other MEAL activities based on need.
Neutrality and Impartiality:
- Ensure that the data collection is non-biased, neutral, and inclusive of all actors present in the earthquake context.
- Ensure the data collection process is not exacerbating on existing social tensions between and within groups.
- Ensure an efficient and respectful external coordination with all stakeholders in link with the situation analysis.
Confidentiality and Archives:
- Ensure that all relevant information collected respect principles of confidentiality and dignity.
- Ensure all questionnaires, equipment and data are accounted for and handed over to the supervisor.
Organizational Policies:
- Respects the Tdh Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP) and its principles of child protection, ensuring the policys implementation and prompt notification of the CSP Focal Point with any information regarding potential breaches of the policy.
- Is aware of, abides by and promotes the practices and values set out in all other Tdh policies and procedures such as the Internal Regulations, Standard Operating Procedures and other policies.
- Undertake all other duties that may be requested by the line-manager and that are compatible with the job.
- Complies with Tdh data protection policy.

Experiment: 6 months experience in humanitarian field preferably in data collection and carrying out assessments.
Translation: Fluent in Arabic and English (oral, and written).
Computer know-how: Good IT knowledge (Microsoft Office, Internet).
Other: Facilitating Key Informant interviews as well as Focus Groups Discussions and knowledge of using Kobo Toolbox is an advantage.
