Responsibilities
1. Technical Leadership and Strategic Guidance
• Lead the application of conflict sensitivity analysis, including actor mapping, dividers and connectors analysis, and conflict drivers and mitigators identification.
• Provide oversight for integrated conflict early warning and response systems (EWER) within FCA’s operational contexts.
• Lead the mainstreaming of Peacebuilding and Conflict Sensitivity (PCS) frameworks across multi-sectoral programming.
• Lead the implementation of FCA Syria’s Peacebuilding Strategy by providing expert guidance on context-sensitive peacebuilding and conflict mitigation approaches, ensuring integration across education, livelihoods, and protection programs.
• Promote conflict sensitivity, Do No Harm principles, and inclusive dialogue practices across project cycles.
2. Programme Design and Implementation
• Ensure all programs are informed by conflict analysis, contextual risk assessments, and social cohesion baselines, using participatory and inclusive methodologies.
• Design interventions based on FCA’s Peacebuilding Theory of Change, integrating horizontal dialogue platforms (inter/intra-community) and vertical policy advocacy mechanisms.
• Support the design and development of new project proposals, ensuring the integration of peacebuilding objectives and conflict analyses.
• Oversee the implementation of open dialogue forums, interfaith dialogues, and community-based reconciliation initiatives.
• Provide technical input to develop tools and methodologies for inclusive, participatory peacebuilding processes.
3. Capacity Building and Institutional Development
• Deliver structured trainings on Reflecting on Peace Practice (RPP), Do No Harm, and Conflict Sensitivity Integration in Sectoral Planning.
• Mentor local peace actors on mediation, restorative justice, and dialogue systems design in alignment with cultural norms.
• Build the capacity of FCA staff, partners, and community actors on conflict analysis, dialogue facilitation, and peacebuilding methodologies.
• Develop training curricula and contextualized guidance tools for local peace actors, facilitators, and youth leaders.
• Support the establishment and mentoring of local peace committees and dialogue platforms.
4. Coordination, Partnerships, and Advocacy
• Coordinate with international and national actors on Peacebuilding Architecture (PBA) coherence, especially regarding transitional justice, local governance, and inclusive political processes.
• Advocate for contextualized peace dividends, community-led recovery, and accountability in dialogue spaces.
• Represent FCA in peacebuilding coordination forums such as the Social Cohesion and Peacebuilding Working Group, and inter-agency dialogue initiatives.
• Foster strategic partnerships with religious leaders, civil society organizations, UN agencies (e.g., UNDP, UNHCR), and local governance actors to strengthen joint peace efforts.
• Contribute to advocacy messages and campaigns that promote social cohesion, tolerance, and inclusive civic engagement.
5. Monitoring, Learning, and Reporting
• Lead the development of Outcome Harvesting, Most Significant Change, and Conflict Sensitivity Scorecards to measure impact.
• Track and analyze horizontal and vertical trust indicators, perceptions of legitimacy, and inclusivity in dialogue processes.
• Support adaptive learning cycles by convening After-Action Reviews (AARs) and Conflict Trend Reflection Workshops.
• Design and implement monitoring systems to track progress and outcomes of peacebuilding interventions, including community perceptions and conflict trends.
• Lead or contribute to participatory conflict assessments and social cohesion studies.
• Document good practices, lessons learned, and success stories; contribute to donor reports and internal learning.
6. Research and Policy Engagement
• Contribute to applied research on conflict dynamics, reconciliation processes, and youth/women’s roles in peacebuilding in Syria.
• Engage with academic institutions and think tanks to translate field practice into policy recommendations and knowledge products.


Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred) in Peace and Conflict Studies, Political Science, Sociology, Development Studies, or a related field.
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in peacebuilding, conflict transformation, or community-based dialogue programming.
• Proven experience in facilitating interfaith, intergroup, or civic dialogues in fragile or post-conflict settings.
• Experience in designing and implementing inclusive peacebuilding approaches involving youth, women, and minority groups.
Technical Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of conflict sensitivity, social cohesion, and peacebuilding frameworks, including UNSCR 1325, SDG 16, and local reconciliation mechanisms.
• Familiarity with participatory dialogue methods and Do No Harm principles.
• Experience with donor-funded peacebuilding programs is an asset.
Language:
Fluency in Arabic (required)
Proficiency in English (oral and written) is required for reporting and communication with regional/global teams.

Salary and Benefits
As per FCA Salary scale
Contract will be Service contract for 3 months renewable according to the budget availability and performance .
