Responsibilities
General Responsibilities:
The Social Worker reports directly to the MHPSS Officer with technical support of the CP Officer. responsi-ble for the preparation, delivery, and monitoring of CP activities with children and youth, including PSS, awareness, community committees, and participation programs supported by Terre des hommes, and leads the CFSs in the selected location.
The social worker promotes and ensures the principles of child protection and child participation are respect-ed within the Tdh projects and with identified child protection and child empowerment resources.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Organises and delivers PSS, awareness, sport, cultural, and recreational activities for target children and youth according to the context and strategy of Tdh (small groups or large groups)
- Establish and strengthen the CBCPCs with technical support of the CP Officer.
- Define the activities to be implemented according to the children’s age and situation.
- Involves and communicates with parents as needed.
- Promote, ensure, and set children as central actors in the activities.
- Identifies within the activities the children who need specialized mental health assistance and refer the cases in a safe referral pathway to the MHPSS Officer.
- Assists in the coordination and delivery of child-friendly events and activities.
- Organises joint events for children from various communities for child integration and harmonisation.
- Links the child, their family, and community with child protection resources and networks of support.
- Ensure a safe and child-friendly atmosphere within the Locations.
- Organises activities catering to the needs of children of different ages, genders, and abilities.
- Ensure that children feel comfortable, safe, and respected.
- Ensure that all games and equipment are accounted for and stored securely at the end of the day.
- Screen for and monitor protection needs and gaps in and around the Child-Friendly Space.
- Identify the CP incidents if any and inform and immediately report them to the Child Protection Officer.
- Monitors the results of their activities and reports them to their supervisor, and collaborates with the M&E team.
- Responsible for the safety of children under their supervision.
- Acts in the best interest of the child.
- Updating the services Mapping in the location.
- Identifying the CP risks and doing the referral in the safe referral pathway.
- Prepare the technical plans and monthly reports with the support of the CP and MHPSS Officers.
- Conduct data collection through registration and surveys, and conduct the activities pre-post-tests when needed.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of data collected in the field on available guidelines.
- Respect the plan set and raise any concerns or challenges that may affect the capacity to meet expected results.
- Document all the findings in the provided data collection tools, including digital data entry technology.
- Conduct the interviews to identify the qualified community volunteers with close coordination with the CP and MHPSS Officers.
- Support the community volunteers in developing and delivering the CP awareness.
- Full commitment to the Tdh Code of Conduct and Child Safeguarding policies and monitor adherence to child safeguarding standards in all project activities and report any breaches immediately.
- Any other tasks delegated by their supervisor related to their role in the team.
- Participate in need assessments and emergency CP/MHPSS interventions in case of crises in the community.

Qualifications
Education / Qualifications:
A university degree in social sciences represents a strong advantage, or any other relevant degree with good experience in child protection.
Experience:
- At least four years of experience, Good skills in working with children, preferably at least one year of experience.
- Experience in working with vulnerable groups represents a strong advantage.
- Ability to observe well and to identify more withdrawn children who do not make friends and to involve them in activities.
- Capacity to ability to carry out interactive activities with children of all ages.
- Experience working in psychosocial support activities with children.
- Capacity to establish relations with a range of ages for children and youth.
Communication skills and learning availability.
Langues:
Arabic Speaker and have some English skills.
