Responsibilities
The Field facilitator will follow up Organization's response activities in As-Swida, coordinating the implementation of the humanitarian response plan, conducting health needs assessments, providing updates on health priorities, and ensuring effective delivery of life-saving interventions during emergency.
Key Tasks
1. Coordination:
- Oversee the implementation of Organization’s response activities in As-Swida, including health services, trauma care, disease surveillance, immunization, mental health, nutrition, and WASH activities.
- Coordinate with Health Directorate (DoH), Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC), and NGOs to align interventions according to needs.
- Monitor and follow up on the activities of WHO-contracted NGO mobile medical teams to ensure the distribution of medical supplies and the delivery of health services to IDPs and population in need.
2. Health services and needs assessment
- Conduct rapid health needs assessments in internal displacement settlements, collective shelters, and host communities to identify gaps in healthcare access, infrastructure, and resources.
- Assess and map the functionality of health facilities and availability of services through the HeRAMS program. and fill-in gaps of data, at the governorate level and report to Organization office on a monthly basis.
- Follow-up the implementation of Organization programmes, including primary and secondary/tertiary care, health information system, nutrition, NGO coordination, WASH, mental health and psychosocial support.
- Collect data on health needs, including trauma cases, chronic diseases, child health, and mental health.
- Identify health risks, such as waterborne diseases, malnutrition, in coordination with DoH, WASH and NGOs partners.
- Provide regular updates on health needs based on assessment findings (biweekly/weekly) to ensure data informs Organization’s response actions.
- Assist and monitor the distribution of Organization medicines, medical supplies and equipment, and submit regular distribution reports accordingly.
3. Disease Surveillance and Outbreak Response
- Provide support to the Directorate of Health (DoH) in activating the Early Warning, Alert and Response System (EWARS) to monitor disease alerts and enable early detection of potential outbreaks, including cholera, measles, and other priority communicable diseases.
- Coordinate with the DoH Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) team to implement emergency immunization campaigns, particularly in internally displaced persons (IDP) shelters, aiming to achieve at least 90% coverage among children under five.
- Assist DoH Rapid Response Teams (RRTs) in verifying and investigating disease alerts within 48 hours of notification.
- Support the DoH in EWARS-related tasks, including data collection, entry, and analysis, and provide weekly updates on the epidemiological situation and key EWARS performance indicators.

- Perform any other activities as per the needs and requirement
- Report regularly, at least weekly, to the responsible technical officer in WCO and submit monthly progress reports as required.
Deliverables
- Weekly progress reports on Organization activities, including key indicators (e.g., number of benifirians, number of treatments provided, health facilities supported, outbreak/alerts investigations and responded).
- Biweekly health needs assessment reports, including gaps in healthcare access, infrastructure status, new population displacements and emerging health risks (e.g. shortage of water, disease outbreaks).
- Monthly situation reports summarizing activities, health needs updates, and coordination efforts.
- Weekly epidemiological reports of priority diseases, diseases surveillance indicators

Qualifications
1.Education Health Sciences, or a related field.
2.Experience more than 3 years of related experience in public health field work and working in humanitarian sector or with UN agencies or INGos or NGOs.
