Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY
At the direction of the Security Manager, the purpose of this role is to follow up the country security context in IMC areas of intervention and assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for IMC employees and visitors, premises, and assets as well as maintaining regular communication with staff during field movement.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Support the implementation of SOPs, security protocols, and procedures in the country mission.
- Provide regular updates/reports to the Security Manager on staff status, incidents, and local context.
- Regular collection, collation, and analysis of all Safety and Security information as required.
- Carry out Incident/actor mapping and produce relevant reports as required.
- Track IMC staff field movements, ensuring they are logged, reported, and monitored.
- Assist in movement planning; conduct risk assessments for travel, and support safety/security training for drivers, guards, and field staff.
- Carry out contextual assessments, static site surveys, and periodic field security reviews
- Undertake continual assessments of equipment (including vehicles) and organizational assets to ensure that minimal conditions for security are met. Prevent loss and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures.
- Conduct monthly safety and security inspections of equipment such as fire extinguishers, smoke/fire detectors and inspection of IMC facilities.
- Regularly inventory stock as necessary including hibernation kits, first aid kits, vehicle safety kits, and communication devices.
- Work closely with IMC field teams to ensure all incidents and accidents are followed up with an official written Incident Report
- Take appropriate measures to secure IMC premises, personnel, assets, and properties by regularly monitoring and controlling IMC existing security set-up.
- Liaise with other humanitarian actors in the field to obtain information on the safety and security situation.
- Regularly analyze and update IMC’s vulnerabilities in its areas of intervention.
- Supports the Security department team by participating during security document revision.
- Take appropriate measures to secure IMC premises, personnel, assets, and property.
- Act as the primary link between field staff and the Security Department.
- Provide security-related training to staff, as instructed.

Qualifications
- Typically, degree-level qualifications in any of the humanities or sciences and Security management
- At least one or two years’ relevant experience
- Strong learning attitude and capacity for learning and development of technical and professional skills.
- Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an internationally diverse environment.
- A willingness to work and travel in often difficult and insecure environments.
- Fluency in English and other local languages.
- Ability to comprehend security-related subjects such as threat/risk assessment, security management, and personal and organizational physical security awareness.
- Proven experience or ability to work effectively in complex security environments and situations with an articulate understanding of the conflict in Syria and the South-Central region.
