Responsibilities
Location: Remote, with some (one or twice) travel to Aleppo and Lattakia Governorates (with remote coordination as needed)
Project Context: The project aims to support inclusive and participatory planning for the rehabilitation of schools in earthquake-affected areas of Syria. It focuses on improving access to quality education through community engagement, participatory dialogue, and locally driven planning processes. Special attention is given to the involvement of marginalized and underrepresented groups.
Role Overview: The Consultant/Facilitator will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of participatory planning processes for school rehabilitation. This includes managing a team of facilitators, coordinating with education authorities and community stakeholders, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality outputs within the short-term assignment.
Deliverables:
Community engagement strategy and methodology.
Oversight of consultation sessions and participatory planning workshops.
Quality assurance of school profiles and workshop reports.
Contributions to a manual on participatory planning for school rehabilitation.

Qualifications
Education: Master or diploma degree in Education, Pedagogy, or a related field.
Languages: Proficiency in English and Arabic (C1 level).
Experience: Minimum 8 years in the education sector, VT, Quality Education, Teaching (specifically with NGOs, INGOs, UN agencies).
At least 5 years of Experience in facilitation of community meetings, participatory workshops or focus group discussions or other type of community engagement formats
At least 5 years of managing projects focused on community engagement and participatory dialogue.
5 years of leadership experience in project management.
3 years of experience in NGOs, CSOs, UN, development or humanitarian cooperation.
Skills: Strong background in participatory approaches, conflict sensitivity, and inclusive facilitation.
Soft Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
Team leadership and mentoring capabilities.
Cultural sensitivity and neutrality.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving.
Commitment to inclusive and transparent processes.

Specific Vacancy Requirements
