Responsibilities
Objective 1: Contribute to Base Projects’ Development & Implementation
• Support the recruitment, onboarding, and training of project staff, particularly those assigned to schools.
• Use HR tools and collaborate closely with the Education Officer to ensure effective performance management and staff supervision.
• Provide regular guidance and technical support to field staff to enhance the quality of Education activities.
• Address and help resolve field-level challenges to ensure smooth implementation.
• Contribute to project-level risk assessments, including identification and mapping of potential risks.
• Ensure the effective implementation of mitigation measures to minimize project disruption.
• Ensure timely and efficient implementation of all education activities in accordance with the PMP and detailed implementation schedules.
• Activities may include teachers’ workshops, meetings with school/center staff, technical support, teacher evaluations, and community engagement (e.g., RCCE, child protection risk discussions).
• Work closely with key internal departments such as Logistics, Human Resources, and Programs to ensure that materials, supplies, and resources are delivered on time and in line with project needs.
• Ensure all activities are implemented in line with SIF guidelines and donor requirements, particularly in relation to procurement, financial procedures, safeguarding, and data protection.
Objective 2: Contribute to Base Projects’ Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor project implementation in coordination with the MEAL team, Education Officer, and the Damascus Office, ensuring alignment with planned activities and objectives.
• Participate in regular project review meetings with: the MEAL Department to assess activity progress and data quality, the Education Officer and team members to ensure timely progress and coordination, the Finance Department (as needed) to review budget expenditure and financial planning.
• Regularly analyze project data to identify trends, challenges, and areas requiring attention.
• Propose actionable solutions and improvements based on evidence from the field.
• Ensure the effective implementation of the Complaint and Feedback Mechanism (CFM).
• Guarantee that all beneficiaries are informed of and have access to these accountability channels.
• Capitalize on monitoring and feedback data by participating in periodic lessons learned sessions.
• Use findings to contribute to improving the quality and delivery of current and future programs.
• Maintain secure, organized, and up-to-date electronic and paper records of all project documentation, in compliance with data protection and confidentiality standards.
Objective 3: Contribute to Base Projects’ Reporting
• Provide regular updates to the Education Officer on project progress, including achievements, challenges, and upcoming activities.
• Support the preparation of internal progress reports, including inputs for the PMP, by ensuring timely and accurate data collection and sharing.
• Contribute to donor reports by supplying the Education Officer with up-to-date, accurate data and relevant information.
• Assist the Education and Protection Team in preparing additional reports or documentation required for coordination, monitoring, or external communication.
• Collect and document key project means of verification, including: photos and visual documentation, signed beneficiary consent forms, success stories and case studies.
• Share collected materials with relevant country office teams as appropriate.
• Ensure timely, organized archiving of all project-related documents (both soft and hard copies) in accordance with organizational standards and data protection policies.
Objective 4: Ensure coordination with external stakeholders such as governmental institutions, local authorities, clusters and SIF partners
• Contribute to the mapping of available social and non-governmental services in the area of operation.
• Collect and maintain up-to-date information on service providers, including preferred communication methods and contact details.
• Assist the Education Officer in liaising with relevant government authorities, non-governmental organizations, and key community leaders to ensure coordinated and effective support to beneficiaries.
• Represent the organization at local-level education or protection meetings, events, and coordination forums as required, ensuring visibility and engagement with relevant stakeholders.
Objective 5: Contribute to ensure SIF Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP) & PSEA implementation
• Understand, adhere to, and actively implement the organization's Child Safeguarding Policy and PSEA Policy in all aspects of work.
• Manage and protect sensitive information in strict accordance with Child Safeguarding and PSEA policies, always ensuring confidentiality.
• Ensure all personal and sensitive data related to children is securely stored and protected from unauthorized access, in both physical and digital formats.

• Bachelor or degree in Education, social studies or related field
• At least 1 year of experience with NGO (or equivalent) in Education in Emergencies and/or protection
• 1 year of management experience desired
• Knowledge of international humanitarian systems and institutions
• Knowledge of humanitarian standards such as Education in emergencies, safeguarding and CHS among others
• Excellent computer skills: Word, Excel and other data entry programmes
• Strong command in written and spoken English
