Responsibilities
Objective 1: Contribute to Education and Protection Strategy Development, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation
• Support Education and Protection department on development and implementation of SIF overall and in-country strategies, its associated procedures and tools
• Contribute to SIF Education and Protection SIF strategies monitoring and evaluation through indicator collection and report to Education and Protection Coordinator
Objective 2: Contribute to Base Projects’ Development & Implementation
• Support development of new proposals with Education and Protection focus in response to calls for funding, ensuring integration of lessons learnt from previous projects
• Assist the Education and Protection team to improve the logical framework whenever it is relevant
• Assist in recruiting, training and managing project staff, in particular the Education assistant
• Supervise and guide the field staff on tools to improve the implementation of Education & Protection activities in the field, and to help them overcoming challenges
• Identify the projects’ risks with the relevant project team to plan and implement mitigation strategies in order to reduce the associated risk level
• Create and/or use HR tools for an effective staff management
• Ensure the timely implementation of project activities as per the project management and detailed implementation plans such as PMP (activity, communication, procurement, MEAL)
• Closely work with relevant departments (logistic, HR, program) to ensure that required supplies and material are are timely delivered for all projects activities
• Follow SIF guidelines, especially for procurement, finance, safeguarding and data protection
Objective 3: Contribute to Base Projects’ Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)
• Monitor the projects through regular field visits in coordination with the MEAL team and Damascus Office
• Use and complete the PMP & other projects’ tools to monitor the progress of the activities, indicators’ targets, budget spending and procurement processes
• Organize periodical project meetings with MEAL Department to assess project indicators achievement progress
• Organize periodical project meetings with the Finance Department to assess projects’ budget spending
• Attend periodical project meetings with Education & Protection Team Leaders, Coordinator & Program Coordinator to ensure the projects’ monitoring
• Analyse project data regularly, in order to monitor the indicators’ achievement progress and identify ongoing challenges
• Ensure Complaint and Feedback Mechanism (CFM) is developed, implemented and appropriate responses are provided with MEAL Department
• Capitalize on the data collected and periodical lessons learnt meetings to improve programme delivery & quality during and after the end of the projects
• Maintain secured electronic records and paper files
Objective 4: Contribute to Base Projects’ Reporting
• Report as needed to the Education and Protection Team Leaders & Coordinator on the projects’ progress
• Prepare periodic internal progress reports (including PMP) and ensure their timely submission
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports for donors
• Assist the Education & Protection Team Leaders and Coordinator in preparing other relevant reports
• Gather and record project means of verification including photos, beneficiary consents, success stories/case stories and share them with Country office teams
• Archive project related documents timely
Objective 5: Ensure coordination with external stakeholders such as governmental institutions, local authorities, clusters and SIF partners
• Develop & update mapping of social and non-governmental services available in the area of operations at local level, including preferred communication & contact details
• Coordinate with relevant government, non-governmental authorities and key community leaders to provide effective and efficient support
• Ensure participation of SIF in activities related with Education and Protection sectors at local level
• Represent the Organization at Education and Protection coordination meetings and events
Objective 6: Contribute to ensure SIF Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP) & PSEA implementation
• Understand, adhere and ensure implementation of the organization’s Child Safeguarding and PSEA policies
• Handle sensitive information in line with organization CSP and PSEA policies
• Undertake duties commensurate with the Safeguarding agenda for children including representing the Organization at Child Safeguarding & PSEA meetings or conferences
• Ensure personal and sensitive information of children is kept in a safe place to avoid access of irrelevant persons

Qualifications
• Bachelor or degree in Education, social studies or related field
• At least 3 years of experience with NGO (or equivalent), including at least 2 years in Education in Emergencies and/or protection
• 2 years of management experience desired
• Proven track record in delivering quality programmes to deadlines, including finance and narrative writing
• Knowledge of international humanitarian systems, institutions and donors, and related procedures, in particular with UNICEF and UNHCR
• Knowledge of humanitarian standards such as Education in emergencies, safeguarding, CHS among others
• Excellent computer skills: Word, Excel and other data entry programmes
• Fluency in written and spoken English
