Responsibilities
GENERAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervise all on-site rehabilitation works in assigned schools to ensure compliance with
specifications and timelines.
2. Conduct technical field assessments and prepare preliminary designs, sketches, and
calculations for school rehabilitation works.
3. Monitor daily progress and verify quantities and quality of executed works.
4. Ensure that safety measures and engineering standards are followed on-site.
5. Coordinate material delivery, storage, and usage with contractors and suppliers.
6. Prepare and submit daily and weekly site progress reports.
7. Conduct technical assessments and provide accurate feedback on field challenges.
8. Assist the Project Officer in verifying BoQs, drawings, and material lists.
9. Support the MEAL team and external monitors during field visits and evaluations.
10. Communicate any technical or logistical issues immediately to the Project Officer.
11. Ensure proper documentation and archiving of all site-related reports and photos.
12. Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Project Officer or Line Manager
13. Provide technical feedback on structural or design modifications required during
implementation.
ADDITIONAL NOTES :
· The Site Engineer will be based in Daraa and will conduct regular visits to all targeted
schools.
· Flexibility in working hours is required depending on project phases.
· The position requires strong field presence and proactive problem-solving skills.

Qualifications
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
General Work Experience:
· Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in construction or rehabilitation projects, preferably
within the humanitarian sector.
· Proven experience in supervising field works, workers, and contractors.
· Experience in school or public facility rehabilitation is an asset.

· Computing: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and engineering design
software such as AutoCAD and SAP (required).
· Strong design and technical drafting skills, capable of preparing and revising engineering
drawings, layouts, and as-built plans.
· Ability to conduct technical assessments and prepare design proposals and cost estimates.
· Ability to read, interpret, and implement drawings and technical specifications in line with
Engineering and humanitarian standards.
· Strong on-site supervision and quality assurance skills.
· Ability to prepare daily progress reports, site visit notes, BoQs, and material tracking sheets.
Abilities :
- Strong organizational skills to manage field data, reports, and documentation efficiently.
- Ability to work in the field and support on-site supervision of workers and rehabilitation activities.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in challenging environments and meet project deadlines.
- Teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with project teams, engineers, and local stakeholders.
- Attention to detail to ensure technical accuracy in reporting and document preparation.
- Willingness to work extra hours when needed to meet project requirements.
