Responsibilities
The Aga Khan Foundation in Syria seeks to employ a Project-Based Project Finance Assistant– Tamkeen for its office in Damascus.
JOB NUMBER: Tamkeen/ 09
JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Finance Assistant is responsible for all financial administrative functions in the Tamkeen Project. He/ she is also responsible for all finance-related functions and tasks of the Tamkeen Project. The incumbent will report directly to the Assistant Manager Finance – Grants and Compliance.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Assistant Manager Finance – Grants and Compliance, and other project staff in project budget management
- Forecasting analysis for the project on a need-basis.
- Contribute to the preparation of budget exercise/revisions for the project (if required).
- Assist in reviewing the budget balances/availability and adherence/compliance of the project activities to the approved AWP.
- Provide support in project audits whenever required
- Provide support in filling/archiving project financial-related documents
- Assist in processing project cash and bank payments for vendors/staff/ other stakeholders
- Prepare daily cash verification reports and maintain Petty Cash
- Data entry on a daily basis to the Accounting Software.
- Provide financial reports to Project Management on a timely basis i.e. monthly, quarterly etc.
- Provide assistance in developing/preparing financial reports
- Provide coordination support for Project Implementing Partners in financial matters i.e. Fund release, fund flows, financial report and advance adjustments etc.
- Verification of project-related expenditures received from Prog. Team and to be recorded in iScala/FIS.
- Sharing updates with the Assistant Manager Finance – Grants and Compliance, on donor payable and receivable.
- Foster a diverse and inclusive work environment that welcomes individuals of all genders
- Adhere to safeguarding policies and Code of Conduct in all interactions, implement safeguarding prevention measures to prevent and report safeguarding concerns, and contribute to a safe and respectful environment for all individuals AKF works with.

Qualifications
- The applicant must have a Bachelor's Degree in Economics.
- At least one year of experience in the financial field.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Very good command of English and Computer skills, especially in Excel.
