Responsibilities
Key performance areas and main responsibilities:
Ensure the overall development of the SOS children’s village
•Plan, supervise and participate in the organisation of activities to ensure that the individual needs and rights of the children are addressed, respected and protected, and child protection policies are followed.
•Supervise and implement and ensure effective implementation of the Child, Youth and Family Development Planning processes
•Support the implementation of the organisation’s policies, procedures and guidelines
•Actively support and ensure that the child development planning is effective
•Work and cooperates closely with care givers, youth co-workers,and social workers
•Assist in the planning and budgeting, monitoring and evaluating processes for the SGH
•Supervise compliance with administrative systems and procedures promoting the efficient and responsible use of financial resources, assets and property.
•Assist and ensure that financial system and procedures are implemented .
•Ensure that records, information and data are properly organised (accuracy, updating...) and managed (filing, utilisation and control etc.)
•Ensure on-going compliance with local laws, rules and regulations governing childcare .
Guide and support SOS Small Group Homes
•Provide guidance to SOS Small Group Homes staff to ensure smooth day-to-day running of the programme
•Delegate tasks with trust and give assistance for co-workers the guidance and space to perform effectively.
•Conduct orientation sessions for co-workers, provide ongoing feedback, carry out Performance Appraisal Discussions with subordinates
•Manage routine personnel administration tasks, including discipline, work performance, management of personnel files and leaves administration.
Guide and support SOS Care Givers and SOS families
•Improve the quality of child care within the SOS families
•Ensure a secure environment for children and SOS Care Givers.
•Build positive relationships with children through day-to-day interactions and regular meetings.
Support the implementation of fundraising, sponsorship and PR policies and programmes (refer to separate schedules of responsibilities and training)
•Help fundraising staff and provides background information, text and photo material, to attain standards, fundraising objectives and familiarises SGH co-workers on the importance of fundraising
•Ensure that international sponsorship work (child progress reports, facility reports etc.) are carried out effectively at facilities levels and according to schedules of responsibilities and standards
•Ensure that local sponsorships, donations and other forms of support are handled properly and according to policies and procedures
•Support the head office in promoting the image of SOS
Support compliance with IT standards and policies (refer to separate schedules of responsibilities and training)
•Ensure compliance with and protection of data and information
•Ensure that his/her facility complies with IT rules and regulations (password, licensed software etc.)
Child Safeguarding (CS)
•Child protection is everyone's responsibility
•Responsible within own area of work to prevent and protect children of all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence and discrimination based on SOS Child Protection Policy principles
•Responsible for reporting any CS suspicion, concern, allegation or incident immediately following Child Safeguarding reporting procedures. CS reports should be made to the national CS focal person or any other member of the national CS team and/or to the respective line manager

Qualifications
Bachelor degree in social sciences is highly recommended (management/leadership, HRM, educational sciences, psychology, social work etc.)
