Responsibilities
• Advises management and staff on political issues, the conflict and security situation and contributes to defining the delegation’s or sub-structure’s overall strategies.
• Actively maintains and develops a network of contacts within the national authorities, security and armed forces, political opposition, civil society and International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and with any other influential stakeholders. Facilitates management’s access to them.
• Holds briefings on the context and cultural sensitivities for delegation/sub-structure staff.
• Writes reports, briefing notes and other required documentation to share the results of political and other analyses.
• Advises the sub-delegation's management and staff on the context, cultural sensitivities, interlocutors, and sensitivities.
• advises sub-structure Management on different files and makes suggestions for priorities and approaches based on analysis of the needs of the population. Supports the sub-structure management in interaction with local authorities and interlocutors.
• Supports sub-structure Field Team and the sub-delegation (SD) Management in their management of security and overall field movements.
• Maintains updated contact list of interlocutors and international organizations.
• Translates from/to Arabic / English (written and orally), when needed

Qualifications
• University degree or relevant professional experience.
• Typically, 4–6 years’ overall professional experience.
• 3–4 years’ experience as a manager or programme officer in similar fields or other organizations or governmental structures.
• Confirmed analytical capacity in a similar field of activity.
• Ability to demonstrate the existence of a relevant network of contacts.
• Computer proficiency
• Fluent level of English and Arabic
• Typically, 4–6 years’ overall professional experience.
• 3–4 years’ experience as a manager or programme officer in similar fields or other organizations or governmental structures.
• Confirmed analytical capacity in a similar field of activity.
• Ability to demonstrate the existence of a relevant network of contacts.
