Responsibilities
- Contributes to the forensic analysis of the context in their aria of responsibility (AoR).
- Implements the national forensic strategy in their AoR, addressing logistics, budget, and human resources; assesses the medicolegal system; defines projects to strengthen the system and its stakeholders; evaluates the impact of ICRC humanitarian actions; provides reporting; and supervises and trains staff in forensic work.
- Enhances delegation response by collaborating with other departments and programs.
- Provides forensic advice to external stakeholders on policy and regulatory aspects, including legal frameworks for protecting affected populations, management of the deceased, identification of missing persons, and best practices; delivers capacity-building activities for forensic practitioners.
- May contribute to internal case analysis within the delegation.
- Represents the ICRC to authorities on forensic matters and raises awareness among operational stakeholders about the importance of implementing relevant forensic standards.
- Complies with all relevant administrative procedures and policies, including financial and HR processes and Data Protection.
- Conducts field missions following ICRC security protocols and in collaboration with external parties.
- Handles forensic caseload data as needed.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in forensic sciences, Forensic Medicine, or biological sciences relevant to forensic practice
- Fluent command of English and Arabic
- Experience in Forensic case work.
- At least 6 years' experience in forensic practice applied to humanitarian or human rights investigations.
- Proven experience in research and presentation of research outcome
- Experience in promoting the implementation of professional and ethical standards in his/her field of expertise
- Proven experience in designing and delivery of trainings
- Fluent command of English and Arabic
- Experience in Forensic case work.
- At least 6 years' experience in forensic practice applied to humanitarian or human rights investigations.
