Responsibilities
-Produces analysis of the security, socio-economic, cultural and political environment in which ICRC is working.
-Collects, compiles and translates PFL-related information, and prepare written reports.
-Conducts interviews with families of the missing, witnesses, and other individuals relevant to the search, to collect case-specific information that contributes to clarifying the fate and whereabouts of missing persons.
-Carries out field visits to follow-up on cases identified by the Search Team and to verify specific leads or elements of search hypotheses.
-Under the supervision of the direct PFL Researcher, maintains regular contact with families, community actors, and other stakeholders relevant to the Search, ensuring confidentiality, neutrality, and sensitivity in all interactions.
-Monitors local media and social media platforms to identify information relevant to the search for missing persons.
-Coordinates with the PFL Researcher and relevant colleagues to formulate targeted questions or follow-up actions based on field observations and collected information.

Qualifications
-University degree or relevant professional experience in Political Science, Sociology, Law, History, Transnational Crimes and Justice, IHL/IHRL, Anthropology, or a related field.
-Typically, 6–9 years of professional experience overall, including at least 3 years in case management and in drafting analytical and/or policy reports.
-3-4 years’ previous experience as a social worker or similar.
-2-3 years’ ICRC experience in the field of PFL or similar field experience with other organizations.
-Proven experience in relevant research projects, with the ability to work with qualitative and quantitative data.
-Excellent command of written and spoken English and in Arabic.
-Computer proficiency.
