Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the line manager/supervisor, the GBV caseworker will work closely with technical staff and focal points to ensure the proper implementation of the GBV-related protection activities in the targeted locations, with a focus on the provision of direct support to individuals at risk or experiencing GBV.
The GBV caseworker will be part of the mobile unit and will be responsible for the following:
● Support and assist survivors of GBV and provide age-appropriate specialized support and care for adolescent girls survivors of GBV (including FGM and early and forced marriage), including counseling, group emotional and social support activities, and case management in collaboration with the relevant services.
● Ensure the well-being and safety of survivors, respecting their rights and choices throughout the support process.
● Collaborate closely with government officials, Women's Rights Organizations (WROs), and other relevant stakeholders to foster a coordinated approach in addressing GBV.
● Maintain accurate and confidential records of GBV cases and the support provided. Ensure proper documentation of reported GBV incidents through the utilization of GBV information forms and SOPs. Ensure all documentation on reported cases and referrals made are updated, accurate, organized, and well-maintained.
● Ensure adherence to GBV guiding principles and the provision of survivor-centered care (respect wishes, decisions of survivors) and follow GBV guiding principles of respect, confidentiality, and safety/security and non-discrimination while providing services
● Prepare and submit monthly reports as required and incorporate supervisors’ feedback in a timely manner, including information related to survivor non-identifying data, treatment provided, follow-up visits, referrals to other service providers, and awareness activities conducted, etc., as provided.
● Foster community participation and collaboration in the project's initiatives.
● Stay updated on best practices in GBV prevention and survivor support.
● Work with stakeholders to develop and strengthen referral networks and monitor the implementation of the referral pathway to improve survivors’ access to confidential, safe GBV services in a timely manner to meet their needs
● Provide appropriate therapeutic counseling for individuals at the level of focused non-specialized intervention according to the IASC MHPSS pyramid of intervention
● Conduct mapping of service, in cooperation with the Social Workers in the catchment area to ensure efficient referrals and update the map periodically
● Work closely and coordinate with Social Workers and Specialized units for follow-up and additional intervention
● Conduct outreach and home visits and document (when needed and appropriate for the context)
● Ensure close collaboration and substantial coordination with specialized caseworkers for cases of children in need of psychosocial interventions in all steps of the case management cycle (identification, development of care plan, follow-up ,and closure)
● Participate in relevant trainings and attend meetings as required.
● Perform any other related duties as required.


Qualifications
● University degree in a related field e.g. Social Work, Psychology or equivalent is an asset.
● Counseling and experience working with women and girls in the direct provision of counseling and psychosocial support to survivors of gender based violence with a reputable organization or local women organizations/groups, including experience counseling survivors of abuse or violence.
● Excellent listening and observation skills, including ability to create trust, support, respect and interact with survivors of all ages, background and diversity.
● 2 years’ experience in the direct provision of counseling and psychosocial support to survivors of gender based violence. Good facilitation skills and experience required.
● Clear understanding, including demonstrated positive attitudes on gender inequality, and issues surrounding violence against women and girls STRONGLY preferred.
● Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients always is essential.
● Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet).
● Respect and non-discriminatory attitude, empathy.
● Interpersonal and communication skills.
● Reporting skills.
● Capacity to work under pressure.
● Knowledge of English.
● Previous experience in working with a local partner is considered an asset.
