Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision and support of the Project Manager, the social worker will perform the following tasks in the framework of COOPI’s activities in the targeted areas:
● Carry out field visits to targeted communities/sites and conduct rapid surveys and sensitization meetings with community, including organising Focus Group Discussion with community members, with a focus on women and groups at risks such as elderly, people living with disabilities, and caregivers;
● Liaise and regularly meet with child protection agencies, community-based organisations and other representatives to discuss availability and access to services and barriers to reach them;
● Identify individuals that will required specialised assistance, such as medical assistance and/or access to specific material assistance or MHPSS treatment and physical therapy;
● identify women, girls, and children at risk of abuse, exploitation, and violence or who are already experiencing violence and refer them to appropriate services in coordination with COOPI GBV or CP case workers
● Provide psychological first Aid and safe referrals for specialised support.
● Conduct an assessment for the situation of each family/individual (s) joining COOPI activities to identify protection risks and refer the relevant family/individual (s) to the proper service (s)/ focal point accordingly.
● Organize awareness raising activities and informative sessions on child rights, services available, and gender equality, as requested by the management
● Plan and Implement Protection Activities (awareness sessions, distribution of Medical in-kind Assistance, Awareness Materials, and any other related activities) targeting locations with a high concentration of IDPs and returnees.
● Work with community leaders, focal points, and local organisations to organize, Plan, and implement CLIs in the targeted areas according to each location's needs.
● Compile and Submit Periodic reports and other kinds of reports as requested.
● Report to the Senior Project Officer / Centre Coordinator.
● Performs any other activities assigned by the line manager.

In case COOPI is operating activities through a Community Centre in the area of implementation, these tasks are also required:
● Ensure proper procedures for receiving and organizing persons of concern who approach the center to attend registration interviews.
● Ensure proper follow-up for the cases referred to registration from other staff within the center for registration related actions.
● Promote the center’s activities to the local community.
● Participate and engage in planning and conducting awareness campaigns in coordination with related staff and the community.


Qualifications
● University degree in social work, sociology, psychology, counseling, guidance or any other related degree in social development or emergency/ crisis response and /or humanitarian relief aid.
● Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience.
● Respect and non-discriminatory attitude, empathy.
● Interpersonal and communication skills.
● Capacity to work under pressure.
● Substantial experience working with International NGOs, UN agencies.
● Demonstrated skills in assessment, counseling and social work.
● Knowledge of English.
