Responsibilities
- Main Responsibilities:

• Provide protection for ORGANIZATION employees and protect ORGANIZATION facilities and equipment from damage and/or loss.
• Act as an early warning system that will notify the local police, fire department and/or emergency services in the event of an incident.

• Perform access control duties and ensure that only authorized personnel enter the compound mentioned at any given time.

• Provide a safe and secure environment through which delegates, staff and visiting dignitaries may conduct the business of the organization.

• Administer all security related regulations and rules in a consistent and equitable manner.

• Be recognized amongst our peers as a modern, fully trained security service, noted for a responsive management style, innovative initiatives, and customer service approach in providing receptionist, security, and safety services.

- GENERAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

a. Compliance and Understanding: Access Control Specialist personnel must read, fully understand, and comply with all general and post Access Control Specialist orders. Access Control Specialist personnel at ORGANIZATION facilities must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of the post's emergency action plans (fire, bomb, intruder, etc.).

b. Behavior: Access Control Specialist personnel will maintain a high standard of professionalism while on duty. They will be firm yet courteous, efficient, and tactful at all times while in the performance of their duties. They will never engage in arguments with any person and will refer disagreements and misunderstandings to their supervisor. They will not use abusive language, be late for work, or be inattentive. Access Control Specialist personnel will not act in any manner detrimental to the reputation of ORGANIZATION.

c. Dress and Deportment: Access Control Specialist will, at all times, maintain a neat and clean appearance and, while on duty, be fully dressed in the prescribed Access Control Specialist uniform and equipment. Access Control Specialist will be subject to inspection at any time.

d. Duties: The Access Control Specialist must not participate in or support any activities that would be disruptive to the performance of their duties or would decrease the efficiency of the Access Control Specialist force operation. Access Control Specialist personnel will perform only those security duties identified by the organization. e. Records and Logs: Access Control Specialist will maintain in a neat, orderly, legible fashion, all logbooks, ledgers, record books, incident reports, or any other written record of duties performed or of any security event.

f. Confidentiality: Access Control Specialist personnel will not offer or divulge any information about ORGANIZATION facilities or personnel to anyone. They will report any attempt by individuals to solicit information regarding ORGANIZATION personnel or facilities.

g. Relief in Place: The relief Access Control Specialist will take complete charge of duties from the Access Control Specialist he or she relieves, including the post logbooks and all other equipment maintained at the post. Access Control Specialist will brief and pass on any special instructions to their relief Access Control Specialist concerning outstanding or significant events that occurred during the previous shift. Access Control Specialist will not leave their assigned post until a relief Access Control Specialist properly relieves them.

h. Hostile Surveillance and Reconnaissance Detection (HSRD): Access Control Specialist will be alert to their surroundings and report any vehicles or individuals acting in a suspicious manner to the senior Access Control Specialist, or supervisor. Access Control Specialist will be aware of and attempt to detect surveillance directed at the building and its personnel. If surveillance is detected, the information will be entered in the logbook and an incident report will be prepared. The supervisor and Duty Officer will be notified immediately.

i. Access Control: Access Control Specialist personnel will control access to ORGANIZATION facility and properties, protect life, maintain order, resist criminal attacks against UN personnel, visitors, dependents, and property, and resist any other form of violent attacks against same.



-- Specific duties related to access control include:

▪ All staff members or employees of ORGANIZATION are required to show proper identification or authorization before being permitted to enter the compound.

▪ Access Control Specialist personnel will intercept, identify, and make the proper log entries for visitors and other appropriate persons to ORGANIZATION facilities. Furthermore, Access Control Specialist will conduct inspections of persons, property, or vehicles, confiscate unauthorized items, and issue appropriate access control identification badges.

▪ Access Control Specialist will ensure that only authorized persons displaying a valid form of identification and legitimate visitors enter the area the Access Control Specialist are assigned to protect. Access Control Specialist will not hesitate to challenge persons who do not have proper identification or who attempt to avoid specified access control procedures or policies.

j. Inspections: Access Control Specialist personnel will conduct periodic, non-routine inspections of their areas of responsibility and immediately report any unusual incident or circumstances, or emergency to the senior Access Control Specialist, or supervisor. Access Control Specialist will conduct security verification checks of all floors of the building upon starting their duties.

k. Compliance: Access Control Specialist personnel will comply with all orders or instructions given to them by the senior Access Control Specialist and supervisor.

l. Incident Reporting: Access Control Specialist will prepare an incident report immediately after observing a security incident. The incident report is given to the shift commander or supervisor during post inspection. It will contain, at a minimum, the Who, What, When, Where, Why and How of any incident.

m. Telephone and radio communication: The Access Control Specialist/Supervisor, while on duty and handling official telephone calls or inquiries, will be courteous and polite and assist the caller, if possible. All official information calls and inquiries will be referred to the Access Control Specialist/Supervisor on duty.

n. Removal of ORGANIZATION property: The Access Control Specialist will be observant of all employees or visitors departing the ORGANIZATION facility to prevent unauthorized removal of any ORGANIZATION property.

o. Emergency Response: Access Control Specialist will assist in the evacuation of the building in case of fire or any imminent threat to the building or staff and will contact the relevant Host Government department (Civil Defense, PSD, etc.).

p. CCTV Cameras: Access Control Specialist will monitor the CCTV camera system 24/7 and report to ORGANIZATION security supervisor daily


Qualifications
EDUCATION

❖ Minimum of secondary school qualification.

WORK EXPERIENCE

❖ Military or police background is an asset.
❖ General computer skills.

LANGUAGES

❖ Fluency both verbal and written in Arabic and be able to understand and speak Basic English.
