Responsibilities
- Contributes to analysing the humanitarian, political and security environment in order to identify humanitarian needs in the area of responsibility and to defining the sub-delegation's operational strategies and objectives.
- Leads Aleppo Sub-Delegation operational departments to implement their operational activities based on Aleppo Sub-Delegation operational plan of action, which are aligned with the overall ICRC operation strategy in Syria, and integrated response to achieve more sustainable and measurable outcomes.
- Leads the coordinated multi-sectoral/multidisciplinary approach between the operational departments to improve the quality of services provided to beneficiaries and support.
- Supervise implementation and monitor operational issues, programmes, and activities under their responsibility, in coordination with the respective Heads of Departments and Field Team Leaders, to promote integrated area-based approaches across assistance and protection teams.
- Contributes to representing the ICRC and interacts with several external stakeholders, namely Syrian Arab Red Crescent and other humanitarian actors.
- Contributes to defining and implementing the sub-delegation's security rules, in line with the overall security framework established by the delegation.
- Ensures timely and accurate internal reporting.
- Manages staff from the departments under supervision and manages the Sub-Delegation during Head of Sub-Delegation’s absence.


Qualifications
- University degree or equivalent.
- Total 6 –10 years' professional experience in program management, and 5 years with the ICRC or other humanitarian organizations.
- Fluent in English.
- Computer proficiency.
- Experience in managing a multidisciplinary team.
- Comprehensive knowledge of and exposure to a wide range of humanitarian assistance, emergency relief and related protection issues.
- Experience in security management.
- Experience in building relations with external contacts.
