Responsibilities
who will be based at the Swiss Cooperation Office in Damascus and report directly to the Migration Attachée, who covers Syria and Lebanon. The NPO is responsible for supporting migration-related initiatives and programming, providing research and analytical inputs for context analysis, and providing overall support to the Migration Attachée.

Key responsibilities include:

Research, strategic steering, reporting:
- Draft policy and strategy papers, speaking notes, and context analyses.
- Conduct research on specific migration-related topics.
- Monitor and analyze migration developments in Syria, Lebanon, and the wider region.

Relationship management, coordination and policy dialogue:
- Develop and maintain a network with national authorities, national and international partners, relevant experts, decision-makers and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to internal and external meetings and coordination platforms in line with defined objectives and priorities and in coordination with the Migration Attachee.

Project Cycle Management:
- Contribute to project monitoring and management, including planning and coordination, of activities under the Swiss Cooperation Programme "Syria and its Neighbouring Countries 2026-2029."

Administrative, linguistic and logistical coordination
- Provide translation and interpretation between Arabic and English.
- Plan, coordinate and manage delegations and field visits, events and meetings.
- Provide administrative and logistical support.


Qualifications
Requirements
- University education, preferably in international relations, law, political science, migration studies, history or a related field

Professional experience
- Experience in research, policy analysis, reporting, and/or program management
- Experience working with or alongside government institutions, embassies, international organizations, or NGOs
- Experience in stakeholder coordination and inter-institutional cooperation
- Strong thematic and contextual expertise in migration, with a solid understanding of relevant national and geopolitical dynamics

- Strong knowledge of project management
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience engaging effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including authorities, diplomatic missions, and (inter)national organizations
- Broad professional network of relevant contacts

Languages
- Excellent written and spoken Arabic (native speaker) and English
- Knowledge of French or German is an asset
