Responsibilities
- Mishandled Baggage Management
• Receive and process Property Irregularity Reports (PIRs) for delayed, damaged, pilfered, or lost checked baggage at arrival.
• Enter and update baggage tracing data in World Tracer or equivalent systems; actively monitor and follow up on tracing progress.
• Coordinate with ramp teams, other stations, partner airlines, and delivery services to locate, recover, and deliver mishandled baggage as quickly as possible.
• Arrange interim expense reimbursements (where authorized) and - handle delivery logistics for located bags.
- Customer Service & Communication
• Provide calm, professional, and empathetic support to passengers reporting baggage irregularities or items left on aircraft (in-person at baggage service counters, phone, email).
• Offer regular status updates, manage expectations, and resolve complaints effectively in a time-sensitive environment.
• Process claims for damaged or permanently lost baggage in accordance with airline liability rules (e.g., Montreal Convention).
- Documentation & Reconciliation
• Maintain precise logs, reports, and statistics for all handled cases (aircraft-found items and baggage irregularities).
• Prepare documentation for unclaimed items nearing expiry (per airline/policy retention periods) and coordinate secure disposal or donation.
• Ensure full compliance with chain-of-custody, security, and audit requirements.
- Coordination & Operational Support
• Liaise closely with ground handling teams (ramp, baggage loading/unloading, aircraft cleaning), airline representatives, and arrival/departure control during irregular operations.
• Support baggage reconciliation processes and contribute to delay code accuracy for mishandled cases.
• Participate in shift handovers and team briefings to ensure continuity.
- Safety, Security & Compliance
• Strictly follow aviation security protocols, dangerous goods regulations, and lost property handling SOPs.
• Report any suspicious items, security breaches, or hazards immediately.
• Keep storage areas for baggage secure, organized, and compliant.

Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent; a Diploma in Aviation, Tourism, or Hospitality is an advantage.
• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in passenger handling, lost & found operations within airline or ground handling operations.
• Knowledge of airport safety and security procedures required.
• Knowledge of airport terminal operations, IATA/ICAO standards, and airline policies.
• Proficient in DCS and reservation systems.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-flight environment.
• Attention to detail and adherence to security procedures.
• ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
