Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY
The Head of Communications and Media Unit is responsible for leading the organization's internal and external communications, media relations, and public visibility efforts. The role oversees the development and implementation of communication strategies that strengthen the organization's reputation, promote its programs and impact, ensure consistent branding and messaging, and enhance engagement with stakeholders, partners, donors, and the public.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and implement the organization's communications and media strategy in alignment with its strategic objectives.
• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of internal and external communication activities and campaigns.
• Manage the organization's public image and ensure consistency of branding, messaging, and visual identity across all communication channels.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with media outlets, journalists, partners, and other external stakeholders.
• Prepare and review press releases, success stories, speeches, newsletters, publications, presentations, and other communication materials.
• Oversee the organization's website and digital communication platforms, ensuring timely, accurate, and engaging content.
• Manage social media platforms and develop digital content that enhances visibility and audience engagement.
• Ensure compliance with donor visibility, branding, and communication requirements across all projects.
• Coordinate communication support for organizational events, conferences, workshops, and public activities.
• Collaborate with technical departments to document project achievements, beneficiary stories, and organizational impact.
• Monitor media coverage and public perception of the organization and recommend appropriate communication actions.
• Lead communication during sensitive situations and support crisis communication planning when required.
• Supervise and support communications staff, consultants, photographers, designers, and external service providers.
• Prepare periodic communication reports, performance indicators, and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Media, Marketing, or another relevant field.
• A Master's degree in Communications, Media, Public Relations, or Business Administration is considered an advantage.
• Minimum 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in communications, media, public relations, or corporate communications.
• At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Previous experience working with NGOs, development organizations, or donor-funded projects is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of communication strategies, media relations, branding, digital communications, and stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent command of Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
• A Master's degree in Communications, Media, Public Relations, or Business Administration is considered an advantage.
