Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Communications and Visibility
Implementation of the HLF Syria communications and visibility activities in line with organisational and donor requirements.
Development of communication content, messaging, storytelling and products aligned with visibility products aligned with programme objectives.
Ensure compliance with donor branding, visibility, and communication requirements.
Identify and communicate relevant stories, updates, and communication opportunities from HLF-supported initiatives.
Content Development and Quality Support
Develop and coordinate communication products including human-interest stories, multimedia content, visibility materials, presentations, and other communication assets.
Review communication outputs produced by partners, consultants, or service providers and support quality assurance processes.
Support ethical, protection-sensitive, and context-appropriate communication practices, including informed consent procedures.
Coordinate photo, video, and other multimedia documentation of HLF-supported activities, ensuring quality and compliance with applicable guidelines.
Partner Support and Capacity Strengthening
Identification of partner communication needs and contribute to communication capacity strengthening efforts.
Provide practical guidance to partner organisations on visibility standards, storytelling, documentation requirements, and donor communication expectations.
Support the delivery of trainings, mentoring, or communication guidance for partner organisations, as required.
Promote good communication practices and strengthen partners understanding of ethical and effective communication approaches.
Coordination and Communication Support
Facilitate day-to-day communication and coordination between HLF Syria, HQ Communications, the Syria HQ Team, and partner organisations.
Preparation of stakeholder communication materials, presentations, briefings, and visibility packages.
Liaise with photographers, videographers, translators, designers, and other communication service providers, as needed.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure communication activities are aligned with programme priorities and organisational standards.
Activity Tracking and Implementation Support
Monitoring and implementation of communication activities and timely delivery of communication outputs.
Overarching tasks
Active participation on internal coordination processes and communications meetings.
Active participation in HLF global programme communications exchange and learning processes.
Support broader organisational communication priorities, as agreed and in line with operational needs.
Provide support for tasks and activities beyond the HLF, as needed, to meet broader organisational requirements – only after prior agreement with the Syria HQ team.
Participate in and contribute to Syria HQ team and other staff meetings.
Carry out other ad hoc assignments as required.

Qualifications
Education:
Degree or vocational training in communications, journalism, public relations, media, or a related field.
Experience:
At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in communications, visibility, media, or related roles, ideally within humanitarian, development, or NGO contexts.
Experience working with donor-funded programmes and familiarity with donor visibility and communication requirements is highly desirable, ideally including German and/or international institutional donors.
Experience managing or reviewing photography, video, and other multimedia content.
Experience working with partner organisations and/or supporting communication capacity strengthening is an asset
Skills and Competencies:
Strong storytelling, editorial, and content development skills, with the ability to translate programme activities into engaging communication products.
Strong understanding of ethical communication principles, including informed consent, protection-sensitive storytelling, and respectful representation.
Excellent Arabic and English written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with diverse audiences. Additional knowledge of other local languages is an asset.

Specific Vacancy Requirements
