Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY
The Civil / Architectural Engineer is responsible for supervising, inspecting, and verifying the execution and handover of construction, renovation, and maintenance projects to ensure compliance with approved designs, technical specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements. The role supports the planning, coordination, and technical oversight of engineering projects while ensuring timely completion, effective resource utilization, and adherence to applicable regulations and safety standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise construction, renovation, and maintenance projects to ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and project requirements.
• Inspect construction works during execution and upon completion to verify quality, workmanship, and compliance with engineering standards.
• Review engineering drawings, technical documents, bills of quantities, and project specifications.
• Participate in site inspections, project handover, and acceptance processes, ensuring proper documentation of observations and corrective actions.
• Verify completed quantities and certify completed works in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective project execution.
• Monitor project progress and report delays, risks, technical issues, and recommended corrective actions.
• Review variation orders, technical proposals, and engineering submittals submitted by contractors.
• Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, engineering regulations, and occupational health and safety requirements.
• Prepare technical reports, inspection reports, site visit reports, and project progress updates.
• Support procurement processes by reviewing technical specifications and evaluating engineering-related submissions where required.
• Maintain complete project documentation, drawings, inspection records, and engineering correspondence.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering procedures, project management practices, and quality assurance processes.
• Ensure all engineering activities are carried out in accordance with organizational policies, technical standards, and approved procedures.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Professional registration with the Engineers Association is preferred.
• Minimum 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in construction supervision, project management, or engineering inspection.
• Experience supervising commercial, administrative, institutional, or large-scale construction projects is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, engineering materials, quality control procedures, and project documentation.
• Experience in project handover, inspection, quality assurance, and contractor performance evaluation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using project management software such as MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent is considered an advantage.
• Strong understanding of engineering contracts, technical specifications, and construction standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under deadlines.
