Responsibilities
- Safeguarding of the office petty cash and the project general cash.
- Payment of expenditures in physical cash (where applicable according to AKCSS policies).
- Weekly settlement of balance of the office petty cash and the project general cash.
- Review expenditure vouchers.
- Issue bank payment vouchers.
- Bookkeeping of day-to-day transactions.
- Preparing periodic reports on actual expenses.
- Preparing periodic reports on expenditure forecast.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, laws, and AKCSS organizational policies and procedures.
- Archiving all relevant backup documents.
- Assist with audits and preparation of documentation for auditors and donors.
- Following up on all dealings with external parties related to the accounting department, such as (but not limited to) Banks, the Social Security Department, Service Providers and Contractors.
- Carry out other related tasks assigned by the head of AKCSS Financial Department

Qualifications
- Degree in accounting or equivalent field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in related fields.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail, integrity, confidentiality, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in components of Microsoft Office package, and particularly MS Excel.
- Very good English language, reading and writing.
- Ability to create and maintain very good working relationships.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Skills in meeting deadlines and working in multitasks environment.
- Unwavering ability to work beyond the call of duty.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in related fields.
