Responsibilities
. Technical tasks
• Assist the Senior Project Architect in project technical requirements and take active role in the supervision of the implementations work.
• Acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the specificity of the project, and of all the documents which comprise its files.
• Interact smoothly with all stakeholders involved in the project including internal oversight and local authority parties, managing objectives, goals and performance
• Follow-up and check the quantities of performed work, especially for any periodic payments, but not exclusively.
2. Quality Assurance Management
• Assist the Senior Project Architect to maintain continuous and adequate high-quality Site Management.
• Identify and report on, via periodic inspections, any defects appearing during work in progress.
• Recommend remedial actions where corrective work may be required due to any errors and omissions.
• Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality control and safety standards.
• Follow up the compliance of the contractor with all terms of the contract and the tender documents.
• Developing and managing the information systems for monitoring project progress and controlling the reporting systems: Periodic monthly schedule progress monitoring including recovery plan negotiation with the contractors.
• Check if contractors comply with the specifications, at a minimum of a weekly basis, and edit a succinct statement.
• Prepare a List of Defects and incomplete Works and Equipment to be corrected.
3. Cost Management
• Assist the Senior Project Architect in the establishment of budgets and in maintaining cost and agreed accounting procedures
• Assist in the preparation of project future project budget and control the contracted costs versus work progress
• Assist the Senior Project Architect in the preparation of the construction budget by tracking construction reports to show monthly cost to date vs original budget.
• Assist the Senior Project Architect in the preparation of the necessary invoices and regular payments to ensure funding is in place so that contracted parties are paid in a timely manner.
• Assist the Senior Project Architect in activities concerned with the edition, reporting and control of the construction process: contract amounts; work orders; contractor insurance documents; quantities book; financial documents; change orders; payment document; invoice; work force table with the insurance certificates; etc.
4. Information Management
• Assist the Senior Project Architect in activities related to the edition, reporting and controlling the construction process: contract amounts; work orders; construction insurance documents;
• Assist in the preparation of the procedures and systems for issuance of instructions to Construction, Consultants, Suppliers.
• Monitor and co-ordinate all service contract communications of the project.
• Organize and maintain on-site records of all service contracts, agreements and contract documentation.
• Permanent update of the graphic documents, related to documentation and execution drawings.
5. Ethics and professional standards
• Full compliance with AKDN and AKCS-S procedures, policies, ethics and the Safeguarding Code of Conduct as defined by AKDN, which would be communicated later with the successful candidate.

• University Degree in Architecture/Civil Engineering, with previous experience in same field.
• Capacity to follow a defined organization chart of the team and to respect the dispatched responsibilities.
• Deep experience in architecture and building conservation. Consideration will also be given to experience in construction management, project financial reporting (expenditures), and project management. This list is not exhaustive.
• Experience/knowledge of the construction/rehabilitation field is a plus.
• Experience in the use of planning/scheduling/tracking systems such as Primavera and Microsoft Project is required
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of project control principles relating to quality control, budgeting, scheduling, tracking of actual/committed costs, change control and forecasting, and financial principles.
• Experience with AutoCAD 2D/3D, REVIT and other design tool.
• Proficient use of MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Very good verbal and written Arabic communication skills as well as good verbal and written English skills.
• Ability to work in compliance with established company policies and procedures.
• Ability to work during established time schedule, and extra hours as needed.
• Occasional travel for work to Damascus may be required.

Salary and Benefits
Salary of the successful candidate would be set according to project budget and AKCS-S Salary Scale. The successful candidate will be entitled Medical and Life Insurance, in addition to Social Security registration.
