Responsibilities
The Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and following up on the implementation of the Tourism, Hospitality and Hotel Management Programme, ensuring that activities are delivered in line with approved plans, timelines, quality standards, and labour-market needs.
The position serves as a key coordination link between project management, training centres, technical teams, trainers, private-sector partners, the Ministry of Tourism, and other relevant stakeholders to support effective programme implementation and quality training outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Programme Coordination & Implementation
- Coordinate the implementation of programme activities across targeted training centres, ensuring adherence to approved workplans, timelines, and deliverables.
- Monitor implementation progress, identify operational challenges, and coordinate timely actions with relevant stakeholders.
2. Training Programme Coordination
- Coordinate the preparation and delivery of training programmes based on labour-market requirements and the needs of training centres, under the guidance of the Programme Manager.
- Ensure the availability of trainers, facilities, equipment, training materials, schedules, and other logistical requirements.
- Coordinate with Human Resources on training staff requirements and support the recruitment and selection of trainers.
3. Training Centre & Performance Monitoring
- Follow up on training delivery and the readiness of centres, trainers, and equipment to ensure smooth and quality training.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), attendance, participation, completion rates, trainer performance, and key challenges affecting training outcomes.
- Coordinate with the Monitoring and Evaluation team to address performance gaps and support continuous improvement.
4. Private-Sector Engagement & Labour-Market Linkages
- Develop and maintain working relationships with hotels, restaurants, tourism and travel companies, hospitality institutions, and other relevant private-sector stakeholders.
- Organise consultations and workshops with private-sector representatives to identify labour-market needs and required skills and competencies.
- Incorporate employer feedback into training improvements and support practical training, workplace-based learning, and employment linkages for graduates.
5. Curriculum & Training Quality
- Coordinate with technical experts and specialists to review and develop curricula and training materials in line with sector needs and labour-market requirements.
- Collect and follow up on feedback from trainers, trainees, and employers and support its integration into training quality-improvement initiatives.
6. Government & Ministry Coordination
- Serve as a key focal point with the Ministry of Tourism regarding programme implementation, under the guidance of the Programme Manager.
- Follow up on required approvals, licences, accreditations, and regulatory requirements related to programme activities.
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of required plans, reports, and documentation and follow up on relevant feedback and instructions.
7. Reporting & Stakeholder Coordination
- Monitor programme progress and consolidate information from training centres and relevant project teams.
- Prepare periodic reports covering implementation progress, achievements, challenges, KPIs, and recommendations.
- Ensure effective coordination among project teams, training centres, and stakeholders and follow up on agreed actions.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Hotel and Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Project Management, Education and Training, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in project or programme coordination, preferably in tourism, hospitality, hotel management, vocational training, or skills development.
- Experience coordinating multi-site training programmes and following up on trainers, training centres, and operational requirements.
- Experience working with government entities, private-sector organisations, and other stakeholders, preferably within the tourism, hospitality, or training sectors.
- Proven experience in planning, monitoring, reporting, and performance tracking.
- Good understanding of labour-market needs and skills requirements within the tourism, hospitality, and hotel-management sectors.
