Responsibilities
II. Context
Project Brief:
The project aims to support the value chain of two products (almond and grape) in 4 villages (Zaidal, Fairouza, Sukkara, Abu Dali) and intervenes in different stages of agricultural activities and food processing that are seen to be enhanced and promoted through cooperative units where famers and producers can form and run their own institutions.
The project focuses on enriching the phase between agricultures and supplies activities by adding home food industries with hygiene and health requirement, packaged, and positioned in specialized market outlets in parallel with supporting the formation of self-help group at villages level and cooperative unit at the area level.
Project specific objectives:
-Improve farmers’ technical capacity in the field of grafting and pruning, compost and fodder production
-Support families to have their own businesses mainly in the field of food processing through providing business development skills training, and support access to market and financial support.
-Support forming Almond and grape cooperative at villages and area levels.
The project field technician will support the project manager on the daily implementation of project activities, control, delivering and completion of project, keeping project management tracking systems updated and providing reports.
III. Objectives of the Assignment
He/she will be working under the supervision of the Project Technical Officer, and closely with project team and EDL technical officer on delivering the following:
-He/she coordinates the field activities so that daily, short term, and long-term production objectives can be achieved and also closely monitors the progress of the work.
-He/she studies what equipment is necessary for effective field operation and assists in its procurement and makes sure that it is as per the given specifications.
-Ordering and scheduling the delivery of all equipment needed for the project.
-Ensure that the works quality is at acceptable level and intervene if such quality is not attained
-Investigating and resolving beneficiaries’ complaints.
-Ensure harmonized communication among the project stakeholders based on project requirements and beneficiaries’ preferences.
-Reviewing project progress to ensure that deadlines are met.
-Assist in the preparation of inspection for the substantial completion and snag list
-Generate all required reports and data/data analysis of monitoring.
-Analyze the situation of supported and targeted community groups, and assist in the project implementation in line with the objectives and outputs
-Ensure that the delivered material meets the required technical specifications.
-Support in completing the monthly Activity Progress Reports.
-Performs other related technical duties as required.

V. Final product/Deliverables (For Output Based Contracts, clearly indicate milestones and percentage of total lump sum that will be paid for completion of each milestone)
