II. Scope/Objective
Background:
The idea of the project comes as a result of evaluating the needs of the target area and analysing the outcomes of the focused discussion sessions that were carried out in the city of Al-Mayadeen and its countryside through the team of the United Nations Development Program office in Al-Mayadeen and knowing the most important challenges that the area and small farmers in particular suffer from, which end with the following:
-Problems related to the economic situation (lack of job opportunities and sources of income), as the crisis led to significant damage to economic activities.
-The agricultural sector, which is the main driver of the economy in the region, in addition to being the main field of work, has been affected, as returning small farmers are considered the most affected group during the period of displacement.
-As a result of the events, the proportion of men in society decreased, especially the youth group, which used to carry out the most stressful work in rural areas, which led to an increase in the burdens that women had to bear despite the fact that even before the crisis they bore more than 75% of the burdens of rural economic activities.
The project seeks to create job opportunities in the targeted areas for the returnees to their areas, especially the most vulnerable groups, led by female breadwinners, youth and persons with disabilities, with a focus on the most important value chains affected by the crisis.
Functions / Key Results Expected:
-Carrying out surveys and interviews for the project in the targeting areas.
-Ensure that the lists of beneficiaries comply with the project targeting criteria.
-Verify the lists of data provided by the target areas to meet the project targeting criteria.
-Verification of the information provided by the beneficiaries through field visits
-Enter the paper survey data into the appropriate computer programs.
-Carrying out statistics and analysis of the results of the entered data.
-Preparing related periodic reports.
-Performing the tasks assigned by the direct supervisor.
