Responsibilities
MAIN RESPOSIBILITIES:
1.Review and revise the annual and monthly work plan for the nutrition project and identify the necessary interventions to achieve the project's objectives.
2.Supervise the implementation of the planned activities and interventions to ensure: a) the progress of programme in accordance of the plan and budget, b) the quality of the implementation and propose the required improvement.
3.Coordinate with local and national health authorities to ensure that the project's implementation aligns with national nutrition guidelines and donor requirements.
4.Develop and supervise the necessary training programs to achieve the project's objectives regarding: managing malnutrition in all its forms among children, mothers, and adolescents, and managing malnutrition at the Salamieh National Hospital.
5.Work closely with the community health and health system strengthening projects to ensure the right integration of nutrition interventions.
6.Coordinate and follow up with community Mobilization team to contribute to the implementation of activities aimed at raising community awareness about balanced nutrition and community-based malnutrition management.
7.Coordinate and follow up with the director of the Aga Khan Medical Center (AKMC) and those responsible for providing nutrition services at the center to ensure that necessary nutrition services are delivered according to approved scientific protocols.
8.Collect data and information related to analyzing and updating the status of nutrition services and indicators in the region and at the national level.
9.Follow up on securing the requirements for implementing project activities in coordination with the Procurement Unit and the Operations Department at the Aga Khan Health Services.
10.Verify that activities are implemented according to the established schedule and allocated budget.
11.Submit the required periodic reports within the framework of the AKHS-S.


Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Health Science and project management.

Experience:
• 5 years of experience managing nutrition or health projects in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Proven experience in Malnutrition management among children and women.
• Strong experience in team management and donor-funded projects.

Skills & Competencies:
• Strong project management skills (planning, budgeting, reporting).
• Knowledge of national and international nutrition standards.
• Strong communication skills, especially within team settings and with health administrations.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership abilities.
• Strong data analysis and report writing skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and travel to field sites.

Technical Skills:
• Excellent level of English (written and spoken).
• Good user of Microsoft Office programs.


Specific Vacancy Requirements
• Not a government employee.
• The applicant must be able to travel between governorates.
• The ability to commit to working with AKHS-S during official working hours.
