Responsibilities
General Role:
The Stabilization Support Unit (SSU) / Stabilization Organization is seeking to recruit a Community Initiatives and Outreach Volunteers Officer to work at the Community Center in Manbij.

The role will be responsible for supervising the Outreach Volunteers Team and coordinating and implementing community initiatives and field activities aimed at strengthening community engagement and improving access to available services. The role also contributes to building effective communication channels between the Community Center and target communities, identifying community needs and priorities, and supporting referral processes and coordination with relevant stakeholders.

This role requires strong coordination, community engagement, and team management skills, as well as experience in implementing community initiatives. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to humanitarian principles, protection, accountability, and professional confidentiality.

Duty Station: Manbij, Aleppo Governorate
Preference will be given to candidates residing in Manbij City or surrounding areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and organize field visits for the team within urban and rural areas, ensuring the application of occupational safety procedures for all team members.
- Promote community awareness regarding the programs and activities offered by the community center, and facilitate effective communication with local beneficiaries.
- Conduct regular meetings with the team to evaluate performance, discuss issues and challenges, and develop practical solutions to enhance the quality of the response.
- Create a motivating and supportive work environment, fostering team spirit and collaboration among team members.
- Develop and implement periodic evaluation mechanisms for team members' performance, providing feedback and recommendations to enhance efficiency.
- Provide full logistical support to the team to ensure activities are executed effectively and in an organized manner.
- Track team attendance and monitor commitment to daily working hours, schedules, and assigned tasks.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the center’s services and the services of partner organizations in the community to ensure integrated referrals and efficient beneficiary support.
- Prepare and update the community service mapping within the operational area to ensure effective referrals and improve access to services.
- Organize and facilitate Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with the community to identify their needs and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Coordinate, plan, and implement community initiatives in partnership with team members and the local community to boost community mobilization and respond to identified needs.
- Develop a monthly work plan for the team outlining required activities and deliverables, and submit it to the Center Coordinator at the beginning of each month.
- Prepare and submit periodic and ad-hoc reports reflecting activity progress, challenges, and the outcomes of field interventions.
- Adhere strictly to the policies, procedures, values, and principles of the Stabilization Support Unit during the execution of all activities.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality and privacy when handling beneficiary data, ensuring all records are managed securely.
- Actively participate in relevant training sessions, capacity-building programs, and coordination meetings.
- Perform any additional tasks within the scope of work as assigned by the direct management.


Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- University degree in Community Development, Social Sciences, Management, Public Relations, Sociology, Humanities, or any other related field.
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in community-based, humanitarian, or development work, preferably with local or international non-governmental organizations.
- Proven experience in supervising field teams or volunteer groups and implementing community activities and initiatives.
- Good understanding of humanitarian principles, protection, accountability to affected populations, and community engagement approaches.
- Experience in conducting Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), community needs assessments, and service mapping.
- Strong planning, organizational, time management, follow-up, and reporting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with community members and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work in dynamic and high-pressure environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, email, and digital work tools.
- Fluency in Arabic, both written and spoken; knowledge of English is an asset.
- Preference will be given to candidates residing in Manbij or nearby areas, or those able to access the duty station regularly.
